U14 Div 1 – Corkbeg 4 – Riverstown 0
Following on from their recent exciting cup run, our boys were back at it on Sunday morning, to play their last game at home, in a league that they’ve being going from strength to strength in.
Our first goal was a goal mouth scramble which led to a shot from Aesa Murphy which found the back of net, 1-0.
Our second goal came from a probing ball from captain Scanners which found Tristin, who whipped it across the goal and found Josh who buried it, 2-0.
Into the second half and our third goal came from a beautifully dinked ball from Aesa which found Hugh O Lionsaigh , who finished perfectly.
Our last goal however, was a peach. Our stand in keeper, Jack Mulcahy, took a free from just inside their half and floated it into the top corner with 2 minutes to go, sublime! 4-0.
So the season is over, and we the coaches are delighted with how these young men have represented themselves over the last 10 months; their hard work, team spirit, technical ability and their resilience has been brilliant.
A big thanks to all the lads, but more importantly their parents, who have been the best supporters and source of positive encouragement for them.
We’ll do it all again next season.

U13 Div3 Mallow United A 2 Corkbeg 5
A great performance put on again from the lads on Saturday morning in Mallow. Unbeaten on the road for the whole season is a fantastic achievement.
The Beg started much the better team and created several chances to take the lead, but it was a break from the home team that looked like opening the scoring, only for an incredible tackle from Tim O Driscoll prevented the Mallow striker from finishing to an open net.
The Beg pressed forward relentlessly and opened the scoring, when Mallow turned the ball into their own goal. The 2nd followed when Shay Rooney crossed to the box for Liam Barry to slot home with his left.
Soon afterwards, Liam picked the ball up on the left wing and beat his man and made a strong run down the wing and slotted it past the keeper to the right corner and we went to HT 3 up.
The 2nd half started with a penalty awarded to the Beg, when Hugh O’Lionsaigh was taken down, he stepped up himself and while the keeper made a good save Hugh was quick to pounce on the rebound and finish off for a 4th goal.
The 5th was another great assist from Shay to put Jack Cahill in to finish to the net.
To be fair to Mallow, they rallied well, getting 2 goals back late on when the Beg retreated back a little to defensively, but in the end we saw it out for a well deserved victory.
