Our U-12 side had a hectic end to the season. They got to the semi final of the U-12 Albert Conboye Cup and avoided relegation on the final day of the season. Here is how those games panned out:
U-12 Conboyne Cup – Ballincollig 0 Corkbeg 1.
After a tough couple of days, the lads went to the well again, this time away to Ballincollig in the U-12 Albert Conboyne Cup.
Following a great win on the previous Sunday morning against St Mary’s, there were a lot of tired bodies on the evening.
The lads dug deep and came away with a well deserved victory against a physical Ballincollig side.
Max O Reilly grabbed the all important winning goal and the lads advanced to play Carrigaline Hibernians in the last 8 of the competition.Corkbeg U-12 v Ballincollig

Corkbeg 3 Carrigaline Hibs 0
The lads continued their cup run on a beautiful evening in Corkbeg. A nervy start from the home team, saw us struggle to get a grip on the game, with both teams testing each other’s defence.
But, some intricate triangle work followed from David Murphy to Trystan Pomphrett, who set up Liam Cashman to slot in our first goal. 1-0 at half time.
Again, we reshuffled our team and started the second half well. We scored a really well taken goal from distance from Liam Cashman, who curled it into the top corner, 2-0.
A few more changes to end the second half, saw Jack Kelleher’s pace being too much for the Hibs defence and a powerful low shot from distance by Jack made it 3-0.

U-12 Albert Conboye Cup semi-final:
Crosshaven 1 Corkbeg 0
The lads continued their cup run away to Crosshaven on their Astro pitch.
A really strong start from Corkbeg saw us create many chances, but not converting.
The Crosshaven keeper, Max McGrath, was excellent throughout , pulling off a great save from Liam Cashmans lob and another fingertip save from a thunderous left footed strike from Max O’Reilly in the dying minutes.
A very entertaining game of football, both teams well up for the game, but the difference came in the second half, when Crosshaven scrambled the ball across the Corkbeg goal-line from a corner.
The lads fought to the end, but it wasn’t to be. The game ended 1-0 to Crosshaven.
So our cup run is over: we finished in the last 4 in Cork from around 100 plus teams. We’re immensely proud of the kids. We thank them for the entertainment they’ve given us and also the huge support they’ve received for this tournament, with loads of supporters traveling down to Camden. U12Div2 – Corkbeg 1 Leeside 0
Great performance on Monday evening against a very much improved Leeside. Leeside needed a draw or a win to stay up in Div 2, we needed the win.
We got it, courtesy of David Murphy goal. Great kids, great team and a fitting end to a great season.
